Incorrect Apple ID or Password

Hi,

I cannot log into iCloud OR App Store from my iPhone 5, I get the standard "Incorrect Apple ID or Password" message

I have not recently changed my email address or password

I can log into the account via a web browser from the phone AND PC

i can log into a different Apple ID using the same iPhone 5

The iPhone 5 was restored from an iPhone 4S backup

The Apple ID works fine on the 4S for iCloud AND App Store

Tried most solutions on the internet but nothing worked! I tried:

1. Changing password

2. Resetting network settings and resetting all settings

other suggestions for this error didnt apply to my case specifically.

I've been on the phone to Apple Support for over an hour and my issue got passed onto an engineer, unresolved.

After that, I spent an hour trying to try different things... It seems like the problem stems from being a backup from a different version of the same device

1. Erase entire iPhone

2. Setup phone with Apple ID that doesn't work (Seems to work fine on a new set up)

3. Updated Apple user agreement appears (Is this the reason it wasn't working??), click Accept (I asked the support technician if this was the reason, she said no, so a little confused...)

4. Check you can access App Store and iCloud from Settings.

5. Now restore from backup in iTunes.

Will update this thread if I have any more issues or have overlooked something, but this seems to work.

This is a big gaping Apple Bug for sure!

I had the same issue upgrading from 6 plus to 6s plus . During setup while entering Apple ID , iTunes ID & Password request interupted and rejected a validated password multiple times . Finally after cancelling request many times could synch to last backup but many mistakes and no ability to load music from computer or iTunes match .

Ran online diagnostics and they suggested I return phone !

Very disappointing .
