Q: ios 9.0.1 crashes frequently

Similar situation here... upgraded to 9.0.2 and saw some improvement, though not much. Still getting reboots that seem to tie in with the phone heating up. Also seems to be happening while the phone is doing that weird thing where wifi turns on and off repeatedly. Super odd, still haven't tried the wipe and restore, it's so much work for little guarantee that it'll help. Might give it a go this weekend if symptoms persist.

I have this exact same issue. Phone gets in a "mood" starts crashing apps, keyboard is unresponsive then keys show up in a burst, screen goes black or possibly white, etc. This all started with iOS 9 and has not really improved with 9.0.1 or 9.0.2.

One thing to try: turn off Siri Suggestions in Spotlight Search. Settings -> General -> Spotlight Search -> Siri Suggestions off. My device has been much better behaved since I tried turning that off an hour ago. We'll see if it really a fix.

Exact same problem here with my iPhone 5s. No problems until I upgraded to ios 9. Now Safari crashes all the time.

Re turning off Siri Suggestions, that makes a lot of sense (at least for my issues) seeing as they coincide with times of low reception. Siri Suggestions would be constantly trying to get GPS signal and would require frequent network connectivity. Have turned it off now, will see how it goes. Thanks!

As an aside, I tried the wipe/restore method and it did bugger all.

I did not have a work profile. I tried resetting my settings. The good news is that it seems to have stopped the crashes. Even with Spotlight Suggestions turned back on it all seems to work. Touch ID even seems to be faster and/or more reliable.

The bad news is that the Settings I lost included stuff like credit cards I had saved in Apple Pay, all of my WiFi passwords, my paired Bluetooth devices, my fingerprints for Touch ID, my wallpaper, notification settings for all my apps, etc. so all those are gone now. I have been spending the past 2 days discovering what is missing and setting it up again.

Still, it is better than the crashing.

I have the same problems and have just updated to IOS 9.1. Apps, imbedded videos, pictures, links all crash. My wifi Often loses its connection  The issue of my iPad2 and iPhone 6plus crashing has been going on since the first IOS 9 update. Nine of the subsequent updates have helped in the least. All of my apps seem to crash and I've tried every suggestion I could find (wiping and reloading, turning functions on and off, etc.). Nothing has worked and the crashes keep coming. if Apple can't fix the issues, I will be moving on to different devices. These very annoying and very frequent app crashes are pushing me away from being an Apple product advocate. I would much rather go back to an older IOS version and lose some battery life.

Strange, I've actually seen a marked improvement on updating to 9.1. Last night was the first night since updating to 9 where I've gone 8 hours without the phone crashing and restarting. Will continue to monitor, but definitely looking better here.

Yup. Same-same. iPhone6 64g running iOS9.1. Just did a full back-up to my MBP and will do a restore and see what happens. My mobile data doesn't work now; could be my carrier though. Wifi works fine, even with my VPN running. But re-boot after re-boot. Yikes. I'll try the restore defaults suggestion mentioned earlier in this thread as well, but jeez... not cool at all for an Apple product. Just an aside: 10.11.1 finally fixed the way-too-many beachballs issue, not entirely, but ye olde MBP is running much better since that update. They must know about this situation with the 6 and 6+ and iOS9.1. They must... And, Apple ultimately does come through and that's why we buy their stuff. Let's see how the restore/reset goes. Fingers crossed...

I just posted something similar in another thread. My 6s+ does this but ONLY with the Facebook app. Random - can go a whole day, or will do it multiple times within a short time. All software up to date, and other than this phone works fine. Uninstalled, reinstalled, etc. Didn't make a difference.

Well, we'll just have to wait and see how it goes. Did the full back-up to iTunes (12.1.23) and then did the full restore. Copied all my apps and am a'waiting all the downloads. It'll be done by the time I wake up, hopefully. Music copying as I write this, playlists included. Again... with fingers crossed it'll all go back to groovy-ville, just like it was. I'll let y'all know if this did the trick.

Ugh... didn't think of it at the time, but hopefully the back-up I just did before doing the Restore iPhone didn't bring the crashing problem along with it. 

Originally saw a vast improvement in 9.1 but it seems to have gone back to old behaviour, rebooting through the night.

I've uninstalled the Facebook app, that hasn't helped.

Ok, did the aforementioned iPhone back up to my MBP/iTunes and hit Restore iPhone. Good news: All my apps made it back in one piece, the PIA VPN connects now (wifi mode only) and all looks good this morning. Still can't switch off wifi and connect to data/internet through Digi, my mobile carrier in Malaysia with the VPN either on or off, so it must be an isolated case with Digi. I'll be paying them a visit later today. So... we'll see how it goes with the crashing situation today. I'm please with the ease of which the restore happened; very Mac-ish. Simple, takes while, but still very a simple procedure. Now we'll see if it fixed the freezing/crashing or not. Update on yes or no later.
