Logic Pro X ver 10.2.0

Thank you Apple ... for nothing!

After Logic Pro X by itself upgraded from 10.1.0 to 10.2.0 at my computer all the sounds and effects have disappeared. The library is totally blanc and all Audio Effect slots are missing Plug-In. In the Audio Region I can see the recorded tracks but there is now sound, totally quiet. The playhead runs but the recorded music doesn't play. There are now error messages but only silence.

Tried another task: Track > New Audio Track

Followed by this message: Maximum number of Audio Tracks "You have added the maximum number of audio tracks (4) to your song. Delete one or more Audio tracks before adding another Audio track." Push OK

In fact my existing recording which I've opened is consisting of 14 tracks and thats a lot more than 4.

Could i be possible that the upgrade installed a demo version???

If anyone have any similar experience with the upgrade I would be glad to hear any tip that could bring me further to play my recordings. Maybe som Apple people know what they've done to my Logic Pro X??

Two things;

FIrst of all, your Mac doesn't install apps automatically unless you tell it to. It is a setting in the System Preferences ➤ App Store.

I would strongly advice against enabling that checkbox. Maybe for the reason you experiencing with Logic now.

Now to the second step. How to sort out the mess. One of the reasons to always install apps manually is that you know when the intall happens, and you don't do specific things like unplug your computer or trip over the power cord.

My guess is that something went wrong during the installation. You can do the basic trouble shooting like deleting Preferences. BUt in your case, I would delete the Logic app from the Applications folder and re-download it again.

Good luck, hope you'll get your stuff back.

Hope that helps

Than you a lot 🙂

Your input was really helpful. Yes the "Install App Updates" was enabled and it may be the reason why the update flew away automatically. Normally I do have to type my Apple ID Password but in that particular case I wasn't asked to. I know cause I remember I was totally surprised, "What's happening now" I thought!!

Ok. Thank you so much! After deleting the application and re-installed it everything works perfect. The Directories didn't update automatically but after I moused Refresh Library everything showed up. Thanks again for your time!
