Since updating to watchos2 my calorie burn has drastically reduced

hi

since updating to watch os2 my daily calori burn is coming up at less than 2000 (on a day when I am not actively at the gym) prior to updating software it was about 2200 calories.

how can this be so much less since updating to watch os2?

I Also have one other query. I do a fair amount of HIIT training and the occasional aerobic exercise class (body attack) but during the high intensity workouts i have checked my heart rate which is about 178bpm and rising so all good. I look at it again after 10 mins during the sprout at the heart rate reads at 80, some times 65 now I know this is not possible and it is the watch not reading it right.

ANy Advice on both my queries please

On the first query - WatchOS2 seems to have addressed some issues with calorie measurement - some people had observed measurements that were way too high or low. Depending on your age, gender and lifestyle, either of your figures could be reasonable. You could use a basal metabolic rate calculator to get an approximation of your likely daily figure with no activity at all. Then add something to cover the normal daily routine - walking, driving, standing, whatever - and see how that comes out.

On the second query - just make sure the watch is snug to your wrist. It's feasible that HR could get down to 80 within 10 minutes of finishing a workout (depends on your fitness level)
