When composing an email why can't I move that email in order to refer to past emails received or sent? I cannot move the one I'm composing at all. It is stuck in the centre of my screen and the only way to move it is to send or delete it. Help!

It's because you enabled the stupid Full Screen mode.
Click the green dot button or use cmd-ctrl-F to exit full screen.
