iPhone 6S plus horrible speaker audio quality on Skype

I have the same problem with my brand-new 6S. It's NOT a hardware problem, because the incoming sound quality is perfect on FaceTime as well as on cell phone conversations. It's SKYPE. There's a problem with current Skype app incompatibility with the 6S.

I have exactly the same issue.

Skype is fine on wired headset or being used as a phone. But when on speakerphone it is fuzzy/digitally-distorted!

I'm having the same issue. With both Skype and Facebook messenger.

SSkype has acknowledged the problem and is working on a fix. It's Skype's problem, not Apple's. Skype has promised an update for the App as soon as possible.

Just because Skype is willing to fix the problem doesn't mean that Apple has no part in the issue. The speaker phone issue is not isolated to the Skype app. Others have indicated that they are experiencing similar problems with other apps (e.g., Viber, Facebook Messenger, etc.).

Agree. The strange thing is that with the same iOS, iPad4 has no such problem. So this could be iPhone 6S specific.

i am also having the same exact problem. it happens with all the VOIP apps. i think its not the Skype specific problem.

Same exact problem. Skype speakerphone only. viber, FaceTime and normal calls all work fine on speaker. Strange distortion. Iphone 6s and iOS 9

Just upgraded to 9.02 iOS. it seemed to solve the Skype speakerphone issue for me.

i have the same problem with facebook messenger on my iphone 6s plus ios 9.0.2

the sound is horrible when i switch to speakerphone. the sound through earpiece looks fine

can someone from apple tell us it's hardware or software and can you please solve this problem soon

My Iphone 6s also has same issue. Speaker sound is distorted for all VOIP applications. Also Speaker sound for normal phone calls at high volume crackles and is distorted. Any fix available ?

I have the same issue with GoToMeeting, Google Hangouts and a bunch of other VOIP based apps.

Really really hope this gets fixed! Don't want to go back to the 6 :/

This isn't just Skype. I have the same problem with Hangouts and appear.in and, well, basically ALL my voip style apps except Apple ones. The question I have is - do ALL 6s Plus users have this issue or is it only some of us? Is there a bad batch of hardware that trips up some apps?
