iphone 6 with iOS 9.0.1 now not able to call or message non iphones. Now what
I can't message or text anyone that uses a phone that isn't an iphone since my system upgrade

It seems like you can't send messages to non-iPhone users since updating to iOS 9. What happens when you try to send them? For example, do you see a red exclamation point next to the message?
First, I recommend going through all of the troubleshooting steps in If you can't send or receive messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
If you can't make calls either, you can find some more steps that may help in If you can't make or receive calls on your iPhone.
