iTunes splitting albums on iPhone, iPad, & Macs

Just downloaded an album of classical music from iTunes to my Mac, MacBook Pro, iTunes on my iPhone 6 & iPad 2. I'm running the latest software on each device. Because there are different artists on this album, the albums is split into two. I want the 50 best classical pieces on one album, not split into tracks that don't match! (i.e., on one album the tracks go from 26 to 31 to 43 to 45, etc. Not in sequence. These tracks are missing from the other version of the split album.)

How do I fix this on all the devices?

Thanks

iPhone 6, iOS 9.0.1

Hi Arnie,

There may be a couple of things going on here. Here's one thing to check: On your Mac or MacBook, select all the tracks of the album and then go to File > Get Info (or use the keyboard shortcut Command-I). Near the bottom, there's a checkbox for "Album is a compilation of songs by different artists." This should be checked, since the album as you describe it contains tracks by multiple artists. If it's not checked, iTunes treats it as a group of albums by different performers that happen to have the same name.

Also in the Get Info window, look at the field called "album" (second from the top). If this field says "Mixed" in faint gray lettering, then you need to enter the proper album title and click Okay. (Sometimes multi-disk CDs are tagged with album titles like "50 Greatest Classical Works - Disk 1". This causes iTunes to treat each disk as a separate album. The way to tag multi-disk collections is to use the "disk number" field in Get Info.)

If neither of these steps resolves the problem, please post a follow-up.
