what is the easiest way to delete duplicate photos

Does anyone know the easiest way to delete duplicate photos on an iMac. I have two different programs, but it doesn't delete the duplicates

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

I Am using the photo app from Apple that replaced iPhoto. My running system is Yosemite 10.10.5. All up to date.

Photos does not support the removal of duplicates.

And there are not yet many applications that can detect or remove duplicates in a Photos library.

These apps are compatible with Photos:

What kinds of duplicates do you have in your Photos library? Exact duplicate image files? Edited versions of the same photos? The same photos at different resolutions or in different image formats or resolutions?

For exact duplicates should Power Photos or Duplicate Annihilator suffice. For edited versions or scaled down versions would Photo Sweeper be the best option.

These applications will identify and help remove duplicate photos from a Photos Library:

PowerPhotos is the iPhoto Library Manager version for Photos and is very powerful. Although more expensive I would recommend it as it has more capabilities than the others and will have added capability in the future.
