Transfer Apple care to new devoice

Hello

I recently bought an i-phone 6 with Applecare. I must say that I do believe I was sold the product as insurance for damage/theft/loss. Looks like this is not covered and I have just lost my phone. What I want to know is if I buy a new phone can I transfer my Apple Care to the new device given it is only two months old?
