Q: iPhone 6s delay when multitasking

So I got the new iPhone 6s the day it came out and right when I got it I updated it to iOS 9.0.1. Everything is perfectly fine with it but when I double tap the home button to open up the multitasking center it is a little delayed. And by delayed I mean like a 1 second delay but it is still kind of annoying especially when everything else on my phone is very fast. My dad got the same phone and his is not delayed at all. Does anyone else have this problem? Is this just a software problem?

    Hi there Drew-iPod,

It sounds like your phone is having some performance issues when you bring up the multi-tasking menu. I would start by quitting all the running apps on your phone:

Force an app to close in iOS

    1. Press the Home button two times quickly. You'll see small previews of your recently used apps.
    2. Swipe left to find the app you want to close.
    3. Swipe up on the app's preview to close it.

When you have done that, force restart the device and test the issue again:

iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

Usually it should't come down to this but if the issue persists, backup your device to iTunes, then restore it as new and verify that it works.

How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups

If it does, then restore your backup to either verify it still works and the software just needed reinstalled, or isolate the issue to the backup file itself.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I had the same problem until I disabled all Accessibility Shortcuts from Settings > General > Accessibility > Accessibility Shortcuts. That may work for you.

Hello, I wanted to log in at 2:14 am to tell you that i am grateful. This happened to be my issue and it solved it for me, I was swearing and cussing until I saw this thread and read what you wrote. I have the zoom accessibility to darken my screen during the night and when I disabled it... Lo and behold, faster than ever. I want to thank you and I hope people that happen to have this problem stumble upon this thread and look at your answer. I also had tried a clean restore from a back-up and my old iPad mini first gen was faster with the multi tasking button!! And after I looked at what you said it was gone. Bless you kind sir, bless you.
