Q: not getting a tone with new messages

Congratulations on the purchase of your iPhone 6s.  Can't wait to get one myself!  So, I understand you are not hearing a ringtone when you receive a text message.  Are you having issues with any other ringtones besides the text tone? If not, try changing the text tone:

Change your sound settings

Go to Settings > Sounds.

Adjust your ringer and alert volume.

What do you see as the sound for Text Tone in this window?  What happens when you try a different default ringtone?
