Apple TVI Don't have a GoPro or the GoPro app, but maybe I can help. What are the specs video/audio of the original media? What conversion options do you have in the GoPro app?

Apple TVIt should work. It's a pretty big file size based on an old codec. Not sure if there's any benefit if you can import directly into FCP from the camera or an archive.

Sep 27, 2015 6:17 PM in response to Tom Wolskyby nicolefromgambrills,i can import directly into FCPX, however, i would have to import the entire file and then search for the part of the clip that i used the HiLight feature for. I was wondering if FCPX would recognize the HiLight tag.

No...
Only the GoPro editing app will recognize those HiLight tags.
Do your edits in the GoPro app and export them as CineForm. If I remember right FCP X can read that codec. Try one first to make sure...

Sep 28, 2015 6:51 AM in response to David M Brewerby David Bogie Chq-1,I'd also suggest you cruise some of the many GoPor user forums. Trekker you will find lots of experienced GP and Studio users who also use FCPX.
There are several different strategies for backing up your footage, importing form the backup, making selections, and moving your selections to FCPX. My limited experience with our GoPro rigs is to let GPStudio do the conversions for me and then import those movies into FCPX. That's just our situation based on our current understanding of how to get the most out of shared libraries on a remote server.
