IOS 9.0.1 won't USB tether to Windows 10

It was part of the iTunes upgrade. On Mac, I just had to restore a USB file, and all is good again. Probably just need a similar file restored on your windows machine.

You will have to figure out the windows equivalents of

/System/Library/Extensions/AppleUSBEthernetHost.kext

It did fix the problem on my mac.

This exact same thing is happening to me. Its driving me nuts.

iTunes has no problem seeing the iphone. Syncing, transfering music...all good.

What about when i want to copy photos / videos from my phone... I used to be able to do this. Windows is no longer recognising the it as a device and it is no longer available through 'My Computer'.

iTunes...fine.

Windows...NOT FINE.

I have done a full clean reinstall of itunes, and I have tried several different iPhones (iPhone 4s, 5s, 6 Plus) and there is no diference.

When going into Device Manager to "Update Driver Software" i continue to get "Windows was unable to install your iPhone"

I see the same issue on my iOS 9.0.1 with surface pro 3, windows 10. Any update from apple?

I had the same issue before installing iTunes, but got solved with iTunes installation. May be, you have to update iTunes

Instead of using a driver from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers you need to go toC:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\NetDriversThis will allow windows to detect your iPhone as a network adapter 🙂 I just figured this out and thought I'd share

Thanks! I had the same Windows 10 symptoms of seeing the iPhone in iTunes, and the driver error message. The repair is in the NetDrivers directory. Works now!

is it necessary to have itunes installed on a windows computer for usb tethering? or it can be done by installing some drivers or etc.?

if yes please mention a link here to download those individual drivers or etc.

Find the driver in this directory C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\NetDrivers

Looks like Apple may have published a new build of iTunes 12.3 with the old version of the kext file

Tried it and confirmed the issue is resolved. Perhaps you need to update windows 10 drivers.
