WiFi Assist on iPhone 4S

I want to turn off WiFi assist because my phone has been super slow, glitchy, and losing battery fast since the latest upgrade, but I can't seem to find the WiFi assist button. I have an iPhone 4S.

iPhone 4S, iOS 9.0.1

The setting is in Settings > Cellular and then scroll all of the way to the bottom where it should be found below the list of "Use Cellular Data For" and above "Reset Statistics"

Huh. OK that's good then I guess since it means I'm not going crazy. I wonder why it doesn't show up on my husband's iPhone5s though.

It should show up. I have an iPhone 5S and I have it at the very bottom of the Celluliar settings just like FoxFifth described.

If I were to hazard a guess, I'd suggest it's because 4S doesn't support LTE, and technically the "4G" it connects to is really a re-branded 3G (HSPA+).

marketing. yay.

in other words it's likely that having this feature on a 4S would degrade performance in some way or another. the real high speed showed up with the 5.

but this is conjecture. the guess of why, not the 4S capability and the 4G/3G network marketing. that's real 😝

We may not have the ability to turn it off, doesn't mean it isn't there sucking up data plan. The wifi range on my 4s went down dramatically, if I leave the room where the wifi router is, it pops over to 3G. Didn't do that before ios9. My ipad hasn't changed, it is wifi only.
