Q: How come I can't find an Apple Support document that outlines the new Wi-Fi Assist?

How come I can't find an Apple Support document that outlines the new Wi-Fi Assist that came with the iOS 9 software load?

I know how to change it but it would be nice if Apple acknowledged the change somewhere. I can't find anything that tells me how it should work and how to turn it off.

I like to share my knowledge with friends and all 'other' sites talk negatively about the Wi-Fi Assist feature which doesn't shed very good light on a useful feature.

I know the feature was in the works far before it was released so how come Apple doesn't have any info on it!?!

I see that you're trying to locate information on Wi-Fi Assist in iOS 9. An article with information on Wi-Fi Assist is linked below.

With iOS 9, you can use Wi-Fi Assist to switch to cellular when Wi-Fi becomes weak or unreliable. Wi-Fi Assist isn't available if you're using data roaming. You can use Wi-Fi Assist with all iOS devices that support iOS 9, except for these models: iPhone 4s, iPad 2, iPad 3rd generation, and iPad mini 1st generation.
