Q: MacBook Pro Mid 2015 fails to bootto netrestore image

Hello all,

I'm new to the support community so please be patient. I have recently built a OS X 10.10.5 image and created a netrestore .nbi. I was able to restore the image to all supported older models of MBPs however the process fails on a MBP mid 2015 model. While booting to the netrestore usb a circle with a single cross in it pops up on screen and the process stops. Any ideas on a fix would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

    Hey madkins,

Take a look at this article.

It suggests that you may be trying to use a Netboot/Netrestore that has an older OS than what came originally with your device, which is possible since the MBP is pretty much brand new. It looks like you can create a new Netboot by using the newest version of OSX Installer. So your option may be to create a newer Netboot using whatever computer the image came from and then trying again.

Also, since this computer is so new, you can probably just call Apple and get tech support. 90 days of phone support from date of purchase. Not sure if you are past that or not.

    Good luck!
