IPHONE 6s / Volume not working or very low through head phone Jack

    This is working Good

    Perform both this

    1. Facebook

The setting is located in Settings > Account Settings > Sounds on the app.

I went into my sound settings on the Facebook app and turned the In-App Sound setting to OFF and my music volume went back to normal again.

    2. Music

    a. The setting is located in Settings > Music> Sound Check

    b. The setting is located in Settings > Music> Volume Limit (make it full volume and it shows " off " )

Then perform a re-start / Power-down reboot. (normal power off)

Do restart once or twice, it will be done.

    Thanks

EQ, Volume limit and Sound check were off for me and yet the volume was low. I went into Settings>Music>EQ, then checked "Loudness" and the volume improved to normal, like in 5S.

I then unchecked the "Loudness" and the volume remained normal even after that.

So I guess its different solutions working out for different people and may be none is working out for some. But it is Frustrating. I dont know how long will my sound remain normal. Has anyone gotten normal sound and then again went to low? Please let know.

If you're still having issues with the phone, call AppleCare and have a replacement ordered. Hopefully you have ApplCare+ for the phone or you're within the year of purchase.

    Hope this helps.

I had 2 6s replacements and went back to the 5s because of this issue.  I work in a cellphone repair shop and build diy audio projects in my spare time, needless to say I have tested the headphone outputs of a lot of cellphones.  I have to say the only device I could find that could beat the 5s and HTC M8 in output power, that wasnt a dedicated amplifier, was a Macbook Pro.

I did notice the output power was significantly less on the iPhone 6s than any other iDevice including the 6 which was even a tad less than the 5s.  Yes, this can possibly be somewhat remedied with software, however I did notice the voltage drop upon introduction of a 16ohm headphone load was far more severe than any other iDevices except the older iPods.  This is just bad news and is hardware and simply indicates a lesser designed amplifier.

There was a time when I thought all iDevices have the same headphone output power and that was wrong.  Apple used to be leader in this department but now they are on par with every other flagship smartphone.

If you want a phone with excellent audio output get either iPhone 5s, Xperia Z3 (paird with a good amp) or HTC M8 or M9.

Are you for real? Either contribute or simply abstain. The man presents a solid issue and you prompt the standard trouble shooting. Meh...

Greetings. This reply is an appeal to APPLE, since it seems there is no other way to contact them in writing for substantial matters of device functionality. So, the issue at hand is a disgrace. I am infuriated and this is not an overstatement. For a device that cost me €900, to have this crappy sound capacity... it is AMAZINGLY (sic) scandalous. Period. Theoretically, I DEMAND an explanation directly from APPLE. For example, an APPLE rep could contribute herein, officially. Moreover, I would expect no less than an official feedback from APPLE and then the standard announcement for free of charge repair, immediately. Obviously, the matter at hand is a production **** up beyond proportions, BECAUSE, AFTERALL, this is a PHONE and a MEDIA PLAYER and SOUND is the most critical sensory STIMULI. For crying out loud APLLE! For crying out loud..,

By the way, here is a brief testament from yours truly... a layperson, with good sensory capabilities, though...

My device presents ridiculously poor volume standards, via headset, regardless the medium (voice, music, video).

I regard my sensory abilities very good and apart from that, in my life, I have extensively used more that 50 mobile phones, of all kind and brands, namely candy bar devices (dozens!) and smartphones... NOKIA, SAMSUNG, APPLE (more than six devices in the course of time), LG, MOTOROLA, NEONODE (yes!.. the N2), just to mention, indicatively...

The sound level bar, as you know, consists of a (fairly large) number of 16 "levels" (I shall reference them as "stops"), namely

    9 "white" stops,

    1 "yellow" stop and

    6 "red" stops.

    Respectively:

It is not an exaggeration to state that the first 9 stops / levels are practically of no use (sic) since they actually "provide" (?!)  a sound level of either very low quality, or non existent sound level!

The "yellow" stop is a tad louder the the last "white" stop.

The remaining 6 "red" stops actually increase the sound level, but, again the maximum level remains rather poor.

Good afternoon, "world" (sic). It is past 14:00, local time. I was curious to see if there is any response or even reaction for that matter, whatsoever, but it seems that no one gives a rat's @ss. It is a sad realization that no forum curator from the part of APPLE, bothered to chip in, at least for matters of courtesy. Pathetic...

    Bump.

Honestly, I am very curious to see if any one from Apple will show interest in the matter.

Really now, is there any reasonable degree of curation in the Community?
