Q: iPhone 6s Plus battery percentage getting stuck

My iPhone 6s Plus battery percentage gets stuck frequently. Like for example, it will say 87% all day, and then I'll plug it in for an hour, and it will still say 87%.

The only fix I've found is to power the phone off and then turn it back on. Then the percentage will update correctly, and will usually continue to update properly for awhile. But eventually it gets stuck again.

In the 3 days since it was delivered on Friday, I've had to reboot my iPhone 6s Plus at least four times to fix this issue.

That's good to know it's not just me! May I ask what they've said so far? Do you have a fix or are they still investigating?

I've been having the same issue.  It happens daily and won't resolve until I restart the phone.  Would appreciate an update if you get anywhere!

I loaded 9.0.2 on my iPhone this morning. I didn't see anything about the battery percentage in the release notes, but we'll see if it helps.

Hello all.  I'm also experiencing this issue.  iOS 9.0.2 did not fix this issue.  I'm going to the apple store for my mac this weekend and will ask to see if they have any insight.

I think I'm having the same issue...my batter will get down to about 50% and shut off.

I have iphone 6s and iOS 9.0.2. My battery percentage stopped showing at the top of the screen right after I backed up my phone to my mac. The battery icon was still there, but the percentage was gone. I went into settings/battery and toggled the "show percentage" green slider on and off many times, it made no difference.

I was about to reboot the phone to see if that helped. So I pressed the display on/off button and the home (fingerprint) button at the same time, intending to hold them down long enough to reboot the phone. However, as soon as I pressed these buttons simultaneously, the battery percentage popped back into the status line at the top of the screen and I didn't even need to reboot the phone after all.

This just happened 5 minutes ago so maybe it's just an anecdote rather than data, but I thought I would share it on this thread.

Please let us know what you find out from Apple.

I can confirm 9.0.2 does not resolve the issue. My battery was at 100% all morning for several hours. I rebooted and it changed to 92%. And as usual, after the reboot, it fixes itself for awhile (already dropped to 91%).

I have received a phone from T-mobile 6s+ (64 GB)  on 25th. Charging never changed . it was always showing 17% and when I restart the phone, it was showing 1%. I went to apple store on Sept 26th and got a new 6s+ ( 64 GB). You please go to store and get a new phone.
