Q: iPhone 6s Plus battery percentage getting stuck

My iPhone 6s Plus battery percentage gets stuck frequently. Like for example, it will say 87% all day, and then I'll plug it in for an hour, and it will still say 87%.

The only fix I've found is to power the phone off and then turn it back on. Then the percentage will update correctly, and will usually continue to update properly for awhile. But eventually it gets stuck again.

In the 3 days since it was delivered on Friday, I've had to reboot my iPhone 6s Plus at least four times to fix this issue.

Unfortunately same issue from day 1 ,when my iphone 6s came with ios 9.0...

Im now at 9.2 beta 3 and the battery percentage problem still there ...

When i charge the phone ,it gets stuck for hours to the same percentage or charges very very slow

When i reboot the phone suddenly it shows me 100%

I really hope apple has a fix for this bug .

Just to add that I just bought a iPhone 6S plus and it has this problem, didn't have time to investigate more but already had to do a reboot to get the real percentage.

Let's hope Apple is looking at this one.

Well I took my phone in again and the genius bar employee did a firmware re-install. Worked for a couple of days but now the phone is back to doing it again. I guess I'm going to have to take it back & get a replacement phone.

I've drained battery to 0% And after recharge everything seems to be fine- it charges much More faster than before And battery percentage no longer stuck.

I have tried this but it has not resolved the issue for me. Thanks though for the suggestion.

Hi.. I have bought iPhone 6s Plus 64gb space grey one week before .... I am having this major issue of battery percentage getting stuck .... i had kept my phone to charge when it was 5% after 30 mins of charging it was showing only 7%, then when I started using my phone it automatically started incresing the percentage to 14-15%... This kind of issue has been occurring everytime... I don't know what is wrong with my phone ... I have updated my software to 9.1 still nothing has changed ... Please help if anyone has any solution to this ... It's kind of irritating.

same issue here and I do change times for candy crush but I think the problem happened right out of the bat.

I have had 3 new phones and the last two were started as new!

Apple wants to put my phone under scrutiny but it appears I am not alone!

    Apple please pay attention

Is this percentage getting stuck a hardware issue or a software issue?

I am really getting annoyed now... Apple ***** big time....

We buy such expensive phone and these people don't give a **** about all this.

I deleted candy crush and problem solved. Spent about 15 hours and went through 2 new phones with no progress. Ironic that this stupid, addictive game would cause me so much stress! Battery is now super strong with no issues with the indicator.

Same thing has been happening to me. The battery icon has been sticking (which a lot of users are having issues with). I assumed this was a software issue and figured I'd just deal with it until the next iOS update (I'm running 9.1). Today I was using my phone and it was obviously stuck at 30%, I didn't have a charger at hand, so I continued to use it, knowing it would power off at any moment. Well, it did. So once I had access to a charger, I plugged it in. The icon on the black screen that has a charger pointed at the battery to indicate that it needs to be charged went away and turned to just the battery icon, so I knew it was charging. It finally powered on and even though it was still plugged in, the top right battery icon just said 1% with no lightening symbol to indicate it was charging. I tried a few different chargers, and nothing. So I tried a hard reset (held home and power buttons for 10 seconds) and it just shut off. I unplugged it and still get the "needs charge" icon on the black screen. I plug it in and it still turns into just the battery icon on the black screen. I have had it charging for an hour now and it won't turn back on. I tried hard resetting a few times with and without it plugged in and still nothing. What gives? Has this happened to anyone else?

I'm having the same issues as everyone else. Only, I don't play any games on my phone. I`ve just changed time settings from 12-hour time to 24 hour time, and changed  from set automatically to set manually. Can this be a problem?

Does anybody know if iOS 9.2 fixes this issue? I didn't see it listed in the release notes, but then again, they don't always list everything.

I have had this issue as well since getting my 6S on Sept 25th. In the first 3 weeks it happened 3-4 times. I went to the store reported it we did a system restore and it was ok for a while. At the 6 week mark I went in to the store again because it had happened 3 more times. In 6 weeks it happened many times so they gave me a new phone (WHICH I REGRETTED - the iCLOUD backup was not working correctly and my messages did not come over as they had when I went from my 5-6S) I worked with representatives for hours doing different backups to the phone from iTunes and to no avail it did not work. I backed up to my 5 back up to get "most" my messages back except still missing 6 weeks of stuff.

I noticed this morning the battery icon percent issue happened AGAIN. I have contacted APPLE in a chat to just report it, they want me to try different things but I refuse because I have done all this enough I just want to report it.

She said there is a 9.2 update so maybe that will resolve it. She mentioned turning the feature (%) off and on again.

I see many people state about changing the date/time for games - that might correlate because I did that last night playing a game and this morning the % is stuck. I cannot say for sure because I do not know about the about 6-7 times.
