How to turn off tolls on google maps

Ok, so I'm not the best person for keeping up my balance on my ipass (toll account) in fact I haven't put money in it in a while. I don't drive down toll ways much. I actually detour around them by choice. I've noticed that since I've updated my iphone 5 to 9.0.1 and earlier the option to "avoid tollways" have disappeared. In fact when I do choose the other route that has no tolls, my GPS will clearly favor the tollway option and will change while enroute, which angers be beyond belief!

Has anybody else had this issue??

Am I missing something? Please somebody help me.
