voice messages in iMessage needing airplay

I recently updated my 5S to iOS 9.0.1 and ever since, any voice messages I receive through iMessage are coming through the earpiece as opposed to the external speaker. I have turned the new Raise To Listen setting off and it is still happening. Any Idea if this is a glitch or if there is a way to fix it??

Hi TheBrandonJ,
I understand that you would like to play your audio messages through the speaker of your iPhone versus the receiver. That is something that I can help you out with.
What you want to do is start in the conversation thread that has the audio message and click on Details in the upper right hand corner next to the persons name. After tapping Details, you will need to scroll down to see the list of attachments that you have sent back and forth. Tap one of the Voice Messages as indicated by User uploaded file and it will start to play back the Voice Message through the speaker of your iPhone.

I am having the same issue as well. However, I want my audio messages to AUTOMATICALLY play on speaker as soon as i get them. I don't want to go through the hassle of going thru details and playing the message and getting out and replying back. My girlfriend can listen to them automatically on speaker, yet i have to manually turn it on.
