Q: My iPhoto has become inaccessible and all my photos seem lost!

I created albums in iPhoto which are no longer available since I upgraded to Photos. How can I find them?

iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2013), OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)

This site has a poor setup -  before posting a new question use the search to the right of People to Search this site.

To search Apple site - use the Magnifying glass in the top Bar.

Sometimes questions go unanswered simply because they have been asked many many times before.

Also, Check below your published question for threads that seem to have same issue.

In Photos under the view menu Show Sidebar - are your albums there under Albums (click on the open triangle on any folders to see the folder contents)

Are these albums - if so they should be there

Or are they Smart albums - some smart albums can not be brought over since their criteria does not exist in Photos

So Apple over IPHOTO updates to Photos -will keep dropping options -- in order to frustrate users - nice touch

Smart Albums are available in iPhoto and Photos. There exactly two differences. In Photos the 'My Rating' condition is removed as the star system has been removed. This can be easily replicated with keywords, which are standards compliant (unlike star ratings), and the Place condition is also missing, but you can search on the placname in the Text condition. So there is minor changes but no options dropped, and instead rather more options added.
