iPhone 6 Plus and iOS 9 major lag

Hello!

I just wanted to check how many of you have a bad and not stable/laggy experience with iOS 9 on your newer devices (iPhone 6 and 6 plus)? After I updated my phone a week ago, my phone feels like it was made at least 5 years ago performance wise. EVERYTHING is laggy. From scrolling, writing, opening and closing apps, animations, to the worst lagfest of them all - the new appswitcher. How is it possible that such a new device, iPhone 6 Plus, performs in such a horrible way with the new iOS? Do you guys know if Apple has acknowledged this problem? I can't seem to find anything online stating this fact except for same threads as mine. This is not acceptable in any way, shape or form. We've reached all the way up to iOS 9 and Apple should not release such a poor excuse of an iOS to the public in such a manner. Furthermore this problem doesn't seem to be exclusive for the phones as I am experiencing exactly what was mentioned above on my iPad mini 2.

Does anybody have some insight into this problem?

I have the exact same issue with my iPhone 6 Plus 128GB model. After doing a full restore using the ipsw files for iOS 9, iOS 9.0.1 they still have not been fixed. Performance with the OS, Apple apps and third party apps is so lagged and brutal that I hate using or even looking at my phone. I feel like I've been ripped off by Apple at this point. I've contacted their support twice and now that iOS 9.0.2 has been released I'll be doing a fresh restore using that ipsw. If it still isn't improved I'll be calling for a third time tomorrow.

Same issue here. The quick reply text is the worst of all. It's so choppy and lags so much you can hardly use it. App switcher is horrible, opening and switching from app to app, pretty much everything you said. I'm on 9.0.2 and still not fixed. Thought this was supposed to be a refined version of iOS 8, Apple?!?

You are absolutely right, adjusting these settings will reduce the lag, but I will not downgrade my iOS experiece because Apple cannot provide us with a proper and stable version of their platform. Especially NOT when I am on a device that is 1 generation old (iPhone 6 plus). I would totally understand if you needed to do this if you were using an older device but there is absolutely no excuse for iOS to perform poorly on something that was released a year ago.

Same here!

iPhone 6 Plus 128GB Gold. Currently running on Beta 4 of 9.1. But I went through every single iOS 9 since official release, hoping the disgusting lag would go away. Is completely unacceptable that I have to disable stuff (transparency) to get the **** OS to be fluid. Ridiculous.

First time this happens to me on any iPhone, and I've owned them all.

I remember when back in 2007, Steve Jobs said that the iPhone was at least 7 years ahead of it's competition. Those 7 years have gone by and is now SAD that Apple wasn't able to keep up the "years ahead" difference.

After full restores using the current IPSW for betas 9, 9.0.1 and 9.0.2 (and setting up as new device to not carry over any problems) my device still performed horribly. The OS, Apple apps and third party apps were insanely slow... not to mention the ridiculous lag using Touch ID. I contacted Apple and also my provider and obtained a replacement for my iPhone 6 Plus 128GB... it arrived last week with a version of iOS 8 installed so I immediately formatted with the IPSW for 9.0.2 and started fresh. The problem still persists. This is by far the worst iOS update performance I've ever experience... and the worst part, it's on last year's top tier iPhone model.

Has anyone installed an iOS 9.1 beta to see if the performance has improved?

Let's hope Apple gets this together and fixes this issue.

I know is ridiculous, and is a way of accepting the lack of quality control for iOS 9 on behalf of Apple. But, my phone really improved its performance by reducing transparency. Again, I know is completely ridiculous. Is like having a crippled Ferrari. But, until they find a solution for it, I suggest you give it a try. Honestly, I don't mind having the transparency disabled as long as it makes an improvement on my U$S 1K phone. Again, ridiculous. But it is what it is.

I have the exact same problem, and like a lot of other people here, I also have the 128gig model. I wonder if it's something to do with memory management on the top-end phone?

Regardless, it is BS, and I've yet to find any solution to it. I would be deeply obliged to anyone who finds one, or gets an official word from Apple on whether they even know about it.

Off to try reducing transparency now...

i wish i can reset, but there alot of business data, chat log, and price in my phone. now it's really annoying, before messaging is a basic job and switch between message application is a normal job, now i experience laggy, battery drain faster than before, also the phone is hot hearing music with kugou music.

if all above adding together the phone just like a mini heater. it's also heat my anger too

You should try the basics.

Not sure what you mean "i wish i can reset, but there alot of business data, chat log, and price in my phone". Don;t see how that make any difference. A reset is very similar to rebooting your computer. You should probably read the manual.

Nothing should only be on your iPhone. You should be storing everything on your computer and/or cloud service.
