Q: Trust This Computer?

All the sudden a message pops up on my Apple Watch:

Trust This Computer?  Your settings and data will be accessible from this computer when connected.

I honestly don't know if this is a native Apple Watch message or if it's a message forwarded to it from my iPhone.  How can I tell?  And should I trust it or not?

Apple Watch, watchOS 2

This alert will usually appear, when you connect your iPhone to a computer.  Has your iPhone been connected to a mac, when you saw this alert?  Then it is o.k.

My iPhone had been connected to a Mac.

    1. I disconnected it before the message appeared on my watch

    2. I would have expected to see the same message on my phone since I had not dismissed it from the watch yet

    3. This iPhone has connected to this Mac many times.  It shouldn't have asked the question in the first place.  But like I said, it never asked on the phone, just on the watch.

I have seen the "Trust this Computer" alert again and again recently, whenever I updated MacOS X  Yosemite and then connected the iPhone again. However, I have not seen that alert mirrored on the Apple Watch.

I thought I'd check the notifications settings in the Watch app to see if something was related that could be configured, but I couldn't find anything.

Then I noticed I'm suddenly getting notifications on the watch from apps that are clearly configured not to mirror iPhone alerts.

Something is really screwed up since upgrading to watchOS 2.

Have you set the watch to mirror the iPhone settings?

That's done on a per-app basis, so the answer is no.

This happened to me while I was 10 meters away from the paired iPhone and computer. My first reaction was: "Trust what computer?" The dialogue is very uninformative and confusing, because the watch isn't wired to any computer. Feels like bad UI design.
