Why no yellow highlight when searching in Notes section??

When I used to search a word in Notes and then choose that note, it would go right to that word in the note and highlight the word in yellow.

Now when I search, it just shows the note(s) it is in and when selected, takes me to the top rather than to where the search word is. Then I have to search the whole fricking note anyway w/out even the benefit of a highlight....What a big PIA.

Is there a way to turn on "highlighting"?

If not Apple employees, can you add it back and also allow the yellow highlight every time that word is in the note?

Thanks for any help.

its very simple to get your searched text highlighted. In notes dont used search box at top right corner instead use command + F, this will open another long box, put your search word there. and you will get result in highlighted..

I'm using OS X 10.11.3 (latest El Capitan) and notes is virtually useless without this fundamental function.

When searching, it brings up the note that contains the word, but then you are left to find the word yourself. What The Fudge! (I tried the abbreviation, but apparently Support's programmers attend church.)

I have some notes resembling small books.

Only after the frustration of copy/pasting to TextEdit, did I discover that I could use the same technique within Notes.

You must search the search results (no bull - it's the world's worst GUI).

After doing the "Search" from the upper right dialog box, you then have to Command ()+F. It will show yet ANOTHER search box with allows you to search for the word within the note's text. As usual, after doing this, you can Command ()+G to find the next occurrence.

Every day that passes, Apple's OS and iOS become more indistinguishable from the nightmares of MS Windows.

(FYI: I had to use Google to spell check "indisquingishable". Apple OS X couldn't do it. It red-underlined it as bad, but it had no alternatives. Google had no problem instantly "Showing results for indistinguishable" correct version. Lately, I get that a lot with my Mac, as if its UI gets more stupid and difficult with each update.)
