Q: No boot - WIndows does not start - blk screen

Ciao to all.

I'm very worries about a situation started few weeks ago.

3 MacMini  ( end 2014 ) 8 GB with traditional Hard Drive with installed Win7 PRO 64 Bit.

All of them worked perfectly for few month then 1 started to show black screen. The mac start but is does not recognize the WIN partition.

I opened a case in Apple and after 3 weeks I'm still waiting an answer.

Today a second one: same problem!

Also trying to re-install the WIN OS the machine show the same black screen with a pen containing the installation or a CD with Win7Pro.

Only 2 times he recognized the WIN7 installation but freeze during install

Did someone experienced something like that?

    1. The B05 is not listed at https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201518 .

    2. To downgrade firmware, you will need to talk to Apple Tech Support.

    3. If you want to try this, take the hard drive out from the B05 Mini, connect it to the B01 Mini, try to install Windows, and if successful, move the drive over to B05 mini and test.

    1) Exactly! This is my main doubt. We are trying to change the logic board in the hope will arrive a refurbished one with a lower firmware

    2) I tried with no results

    3) this is another option BUT I have the suspect it will interfere with the new firmware when I will put it back.....

    Tomorrow I'll let you know

The disk layout, partitioning and the header all look good. Can you check the EFI partition and see if there is a Microsoft directory in the EFI Partition?

Loner where is the EFI you mean? Inside the BOOTCAMP Volume?

When I attach BOOTCAMP volume to PARALLELS it sees another partition EFI......but from Terminal I cannot find it

    1. Run diskutil list and you should see disk0s1, which is usually the EFI partition?

    2. Using Parallels, which includes its own NTFS driver, would run chkdsk as part of its startup, which would fix any issues with the NTFS file system.

Please check Application -> Utilities -> Console logs for any NTFS related messages.
