What is "Remote Disc"?
At the moment, I only have one thing plugged into a USB port: my external hard drive. I have Bluetooth on. My question is, what is the item called "Remote Disc" in the Devices section of Finder?

Another computer on your network is sharing its optical drive.

Remote Disc is the option to share an optical drive (CD/DVD) from one Mac to another over the network.
Any shared drives from any other Mac on the network automatically appear there.

I don't have another computer. However, I now wonder if I could unknowingly be part of a network I know nothing about. I use Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Should I be worrying?
See my answer above to Niel.
Sorry, Niel and Phil0124, I just or remembered that I also have an iPad. I bought it in August, but I never liked it, so I rarely use it. It happens to be in use now for playing some music that In haven't yet installed into my iMac. I think that solves the mystery, right?
Since the iPad does not have an optical drive, or any way to share one....
I believe the option is simply always there in Finder even if there are no shared drives available. It doesn't really mean anything is wrong.
