iPod touch 5g recognizes its plugged in, not charging.

I have a iPod touch 5th generation, and updated to the newest iOS 9.0.1. Yesterday I noticed that my iPod was not charging as it normally did, and it died while it was plugged in. I tried using different cords, different cubes, and an iHome. Nothing seems to work.

When unplugged, it says the normal thing when an iPod dies, the battery icon with the lightening charger needing to be plugged in. When plugged in, it recognizes that it is plugged in but nothing happens, even after hours of the iPod being plugged in.

Not sure what caused this problem. Never had a hard fall, or any other problems leading up to this.

Thanks for your help!!
