Stolen IPhone - Can thieves access my data

My iPhone 5 was stolen today by a pickpocket. I don't expect to get the phone back. My concern is if the thieves can access data such as emails and apps which keep you logged in such as eBay or PayPal. The only security I had was the Passcode. I'm assuming that the Passcode is fairly easy to hack since it is only 4 digits. I don't have Find my Phone because I don't use iCloud. would a sophisticated thief have software or methods to pull sensitive data off my phone? It is a hard drive essentially after all.

iPhone 5, iOS 8.2

Hello,

Please read this article and follow the instruction: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch is lost or stolen - Apple Support

1/ Change password of all accounts that you have accessed on iPhone (iCloud, Paypal, Amazon, Email...)

2/ Report your lost or stolen device to your wireless carrier. Your carrier can disable the account, preventing phone calls, texts, and data use. If Find My iPhone isn't enabled on your missing device, this link might help https://supportprofile.apple.com/

3/ Buy a new iPhone 😟

Good luck.
