What to do when the bluetooth no recognise de mouse?

what should I do when the bluetooth does not recognize or find the mouse?
already I reinstalled the system twice and the Bluetooth remains gray

I Am typing this on an iPad which gives me cut/paste problems. Simply enter reset SMC in the search window. You will get specific directions from an Apple knowledge base article.
