Pinging iPhone not working

Ever since the update to watchOS 2 and iPhone 9.0.1 the "ping iPhone" feature from the watch has not worked consistently if at all. I know that this topic has been covered before, but it doesn't look like that has been a permanent fix to this. All fixes I've seen have only been temporary ones that stoping working after a certain amount of time. Thought I would repost the question to see if has happened to anyone and if anyone has figured out a fix.

Thanks for your patience and reading.

Ping and Remote Control on the Watch/iPhone.

Watch 1.0.1

IOS 9.0.2 (iphone 6 plus)

I had the same issue and Apple sent me a new watch.

After getting the replacement watch with 1.0.1 Watch OS on it.

Ping is still not functioning as it should as compared to using watch OS2 (yes I am going backwards).
If you activate the ping function when the music player is on. The music function on the iPhone would stop and would not function any further (no music would play on the iPhone), neither would the ping function (no ping noise on the iPhone). Even if you press the home button twice on the iPhone and swipe the programs off, the music function would still not activate and neither would ping function.

To reactivate the ping function and the remote function on the watch, I activated the video player on the iPhone.

When I played the video player on the iPhone, the ping function on the watch and the remote function on the watch would have no issues, no matter how many times I press ping, it would work. The remote function on the watch would work 100% also. Even with a combination of remote and ping, remote and ping, both functions would work one after the other.

After using the video player, the music player would work once again. So would the remote control on the watch with the music player. The ping function on the watch also works, IF they are working independently. If you activate them one after the other, the above issue would arise again.

It appears that, there is an issue with the music player and the ping/remote function on the watch/iPhone.

Apple, please sort this out ASAP. The ping function to me is a great security feature, especially in public places.

The apple watch 'ping' button can work in two ways: By tapping the button the iPhone should ping, but if you hold down the button, it should both ping and light up the flash 5 times.

For the most part, the ping functions works on my iPhone. However, earlier today, when I tapped the ping button, nothing happened. I tried holding down the ping button and surprisingly the flash DID light up although the phone still didn't ping. Interestingly, the iPhone did start pinging normally as soon as I turned off silent mode. For the time being, silent mode is back on and the iPhone is still pinging as normal. Could it be some sort of conflict to do with the silent function?
