When reading page frequently stops scrolling

ive been having issues reading ever since the update to ios 9. In scrolling view it literally stops moving every queatte page or so. It's extremely annoying that I can't continuously read past 4-9 lines of a book. I don't read at a kindergarten level and would like it if I could read at a normal pace. I have no problems with any other app or reading on the kindle app. im using the iPod tough 5th generation. I know I know super old but se
