Mac Mini (mid-2010) running OS X 10.10: 2nd display being detected on 1st display. Yet, 2nd display shows extended desktop. What could be the problem?

Extended Desktop is the default Displays setting.
If you want to Mirror the Displays, go to the Display Preferences select the Arrangement tab and check Mirror Displays.

Thanks for your reply. That's not what I meant by my 2nd display was on my 1st display. See attached picture.
Ah' grab the gray bar of the secondary preference panel, hold and drag it back to the secondary monitor.
