Problems with Siri in iOS 9.

Has anyone else had problems with Siri in iOS 9?

Mainly, really simple questions I used to ask it all the time, seems to stump it .

For example, when I ask to text my friends, Siri responds that there isn't any contact information. Even though it did it fine in iOS 8, and if I ask just for my friend's contact info Siri can bring that up no problem.

Also, it was easy to ask Siri to search for something on the web. Now whenever I ask about something, Siri always seems to default thinking I am trying to find a location.

What is annoying is how Siri just assumes it is right, and there is not way to give it feedback, like in iOS 8. Siri would be a lot more eager to ask for feedback in iOS 8 if it got it right, now it is like it doesn't even care,

How do I get my old Siri back?

Just Curious,

Stan

Howdy Stan,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

The general troubleshooting tips in the article below may help you resolve the Siri issues that have started on your iPhone since upgrading to iOS 9.

Use Siri on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

If Siri isn't available, or doesn't understand or respond to questions

After each step, see if you still need help:

  1. Make sure that your iOS device has an Internet connection through Wi-Fi or cellular data.
  2. On your iOS device, make sure that Siri is turned on under Settings > General > Siri.
  3. Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
  4. On your iOS device, go to Settings > General > Siri and turn off Siri. Then turn it on again.
  5. Make sure that the microphones on your device aren't blocked. For example, if your device has a protective case, remove it.
  6. If you're using an iOS device, try to use Siri with a headset. If Siri works, get more help with the microphones on your device.
  7. Contact Apple Support.

So long.
