Q: Macbook pro still crashing in sleep mode

It has been on and off for over a year, but now it's every single time.  I try to wake up my computer and it just crashes, and I have to reboot.

Has anyone fixed this problem?  So frustrating!

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

    Hello ericaonelove,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. I'm sorry to hear you have been having this issue with your MacBook Pro; I know how frustrating that can be. If these crashing or hanging issues are now happening consistently when waking from sleep, you may find the information and troubleshooting steps outlined in the following article helpful:

OS X: When your computer spontaneously restarts or displays "Your computer restarted because of a problem." - Apple Support

In particular, there are a couple things to look out for:

    1. What configuration is the computer in? Does it have any additional internal or external hardware (extra RAM, anything plugged into the USP or network ports, etc)? If so, does the issue persist when those things are removed (if possible)?

    2. Since the Mac in question is a portable, does the issue occur both when waking from sleep when connected to wired power, and when on battery power? Does it matter how long the machine has been asleep (a few seconds, a few minutes, an hour or more, etc)? Does it change if the machine is put to sleep manually vs. allowing the machine to go to sleep by itself?

    3. What exact behavior are you seeing when it crashes (simply doesn't wake from sleep, appears to wake but never completes, freezes on a particular screen, spinning progress icon, error screen, etc)?

Please let us know if that article was helpful, or if there is anything else we can do to assist with this.

    Cheers
