Back to my mac connect button missing

When I open one of my other computers via back to my Mac, it no longer connects automatically. In addition to that, the connect button is no longer in the top of the window (screenshot attached), so I have no way of connecting. The screen sharing button is still there and screen sharing still works. This is happening on two personal computers and also on my work computer which shares nothing with my personal computers other than the common iCloud login. Has anyone else seen this? Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening and how to fix it?

Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, you are not able to use Back to My Mac to access multiple computers. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

Thanks, but none of that solved the issue (also, that's a very old article). The screen sharing portion of Back to My Mac is working properly, but not the file sharing portion. It's almost as if the file sharing part doesn't exist.
