contact photo/bubble in message screen

I updated to the newest Software for iphone 6. IOS9.0.1 since updated on my message screen each contact has the contact bubble with either their photo or first initial. I'm not sure why it has this, but it is driving me INSANE! is there a way to turn it off?

also, I read somewhere if I enrolled in the beta program there was a setting to turn it off, so I enrolled and it is downloading but now I read a few forums that since I enrolled that you couldn't un-enroll (take it off) once it was on there, how do I take it off if I don't like it...
