My MacBook Pro is not charging. No green light.

MacBook Pro is not charging. The indicator light is not coming on. I have tried a new power supply, same problem. I have tried cleaning out the connections, nothing. I can't run any diagnostic tests now because it is completely dead! This is very disappointing, I bought this Mac for my daughter going into her first year of college knowing the great reputation of Mac this should not have happened. She is now going into her 4th year and broke down already! Of course, now there is no warranty, how convenient. Very disappointing!

Thank you for your help. I did try resetting the System Management Controller and although the indicator light is on now and is charging it has taken 48 hours to charge 60%. I did take it to a recovery company so that the data is backed up from the hard drive before I take it in to Apple. They found the fan was not spinning and a piece of plastic near the screw for the battery was broken off. They explained it was clearly a manufacture defect, there isn't any way this could have been our fault. Especially because the laptop has been taken care of very well! This piece of plastic made itself to the fan, not allowing the fan to blow and overheated the laptop! This is crazy for Mac to sell something like this, they clearly saw it happen when building it. I am definitely investigating and looking into all blogs, there must be others that have been in this situation. Again, thank you for your assistance but looks like I will have to take it in.
