Q: 10.10 - Computer sleep preferences on laptop

In 10.9 there was a computer sleep and display sleep preferences in the energy saver preference pane referenced in this OS X: Saving energy with Sleep - Apple Support article.

But in 10.10 it doesn't seem to be there.  how do I return this granularity where I would like to keep the computer on and the screen off on my laptop

OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

    Hey SU,

I see that you are looking for the “Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when the display is off” option in OS X Yosemite. This option is indeed included in Yosemite, and details on it can be found here:

Thanks for the reply.  Actually not exactly I wanted.

    • Turn the display off after a certain time
    • keep the computer on (which is what you referenced
      • but do let the computer be put to sleep after a certain time.

    thanks for the direction:

    • here's the solution
      • set the turn display off after
      • set prevent computer from sleeping automatically when the display is off
      • click on the schedule
        • schedule the time you want your computer to go to sleep

this provides the granularity i was looking for...
