iPhone 6s Plus Unresponsive Screen

iPhone 6s Plus 128 GB (AT&T) White

Unlocked through iPhone Upgrade Program

iOS 9.0.2

Ever since upgrading to an iPhone 6s Plus last Friday, the touch screen has been unresponsive randomly. Sometimes, the phone behaves like I am scrolling or tapping, when I have no fingers near the device.

Updating to iOS 9.0.1 and now 9.0.2 did not help.

The iPhone itself does not freeze; the buttons are still functional. If I use the sleep/wake button to put it to sleep, sometimes the screen will be responsive after I wake it again. Other times, the screen is still unresponsive.

I have tried restarting it, restoring it through iTunes, and restoring it through the iPhone settings. Nothing has helped.

Hey MaxGraphics: My iPhone 6 plus that I've had since July 4, 2015 went completely black this am and home button didn't work either. I used the power button to turn on, but about 10 seconds later it went black again. During the time the home screen with "slide to unlock" appeared, touch screen was completely unresponsive. After searching this thread and several others that were posted just a few minutes ago, one suggestion that worked for me was to hold the power and home button simultaneously until the apple icon appears on the screen. This seemed to work, but for how long, who knows. I haven't upgraded to 9.1 or 9.2. I usually wait at least two or three weeks for them to work out all the glitches first. I'm sure this isn't a permanent solution from reading other's posts about the touch screen being completely unresponsive or unresponsive at times as this thread addresses:

iPhone 6 plus intermittent unresponsive screen

The above thread goes all the way back to May, 2015 and the most recent response was today.

Hope this helps you, as least for now.

i also have this problem with my 6. I will randomly freeze, has happend on lock screen, home screen, and when in apps.

I have had several chats with Apple support. I was told to "reset settings" which i did this morning and within a few hours it had frozen up again.

The only solution i have found to this is to restart using the sleep button/home button.

Ive also been having problems with my battery. It will take an eternity to charge up, around 4 hours, then within an hour it will be on 1%. On several occasions has stayed powered on 1% for several hours of use. At other times it will be on 20% and it will switch off and appear to be out of charge.

Tried booking a reservation at the Apple store to be told "there are no reservations available".

My iphone 6 has been very unresponsive. Sometimes, it delayed the order, sometimes it just did not response at all. I could not do anything on my phone for a few hours then it worked again. Then last week, it stayed unresponsive for a long time (from 8pm till 10:30AM -when the Verizon guy reset the phone). He asked me to take the phone to Apple store, so they can check if there's internal problem. Today I took my phone in and they could not diagnose anything wrong. The technician then noticed my phone has been bended slighlty. It was hardly noticable till he rocked the phone on a flat surface. He said it was bended either becauce I put the phone (with cover) on the back pocket and sat on it, or put it in my side pocket when I ran on treadmill..... Anyway, I got a brand new phone as my phone was till under warranty. Anyway, if your phone has been unresponsive, you may want to see if it has been bended. You can test it by putting it on a flat table, but make sure the camera part is off the table surface. The tech guy told me that there were a few people brought the phone in for the same reason. The iphone 6 is very thin and therefore, easy to get damaged.

Did you ever resolve this problem? Did your replacement phone end up having the same issue?

My one week old iPhone 6s Plus 64gb rose gold (AT&T) is having the same exact issues you listed. It's so frustrating when I have to take a call, but I am unable to answer it because of this intermittent issue. Most of the time I can resolve it just by pressing the lock/unlock or sleep/wake button, but soon enough the screen becomes unresponsive again. The phone itself does not freeze, as all buttons are still functional; its just the screen that is not reponsive to touch. I have to just keep locking/unlocking my phone to get it to work properly. It's such an inconvenience.

Last night I turned off 3D touch and the screen hasn't become unresponsive since I did this. I don't want to have to turn off a brand new feature for my phone to be able to work properly.
