Sep 30, 2015 4:57 PM in response to steve910by Philip Cognetta,★HelpfulI have the exact same issue. I just enrolled late last week for Office 365 annual subscription and it comes with Office 2016 including Outlook 2016. I am running Windows 10 and when I was still on Outlook 2013, iCloud for Windows was nicely synching contacts from my PC and my Outlook address book iCloud Contacts to all my other Apple devices (my iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Air and MacBook Pro). Now since getting on Outlook 2016 that seems to be broken. Trying to reinstall iCloud for Windows or even uninstalling both generate an error.
This was an awesome feature to let you use the powerful interface of Outlook but have all the cool benefits of the Apple devices. I beg Apple to please, please, please release an update, the same way I beg Microsoft to support contact (CardDAV) and Calendar (CalDAV) Synchronization in their Outlook 2016 for Mac suite.
Users typically have a blend of Apple and Microsoft ... please make them work smoothly together.

Oct 2, 2015 1:43 PM in response to steve910by JLG Composer,★HelpfulWhen I did the upgrade to 2016 from 2013, and I'm running Windows 8.1, it stayed active, but I have been having slow issues with Outlook and had to create a new profile. Then I could not get iCloud 4.1 to setup with the new profile and it kept having errors and when I tried to do a repair to iCloud same errors, I could not even uninstall it. Finally, using a specialized uninstall program, I was able to reinstall it but it says the same as other do (saying it needs a repair) and then acts the same as on Windows 10 (I have done updates to some other PCs that never had iCloud on them). To let you all know I have not found one forum yet where Apple is responding at the Outlook 2016 issue. They have however responded that iCloud 4.1 does not work in Windows 10 when it comes to Mail, Contacts, and Calendar.

Oct 22, 2015 3:45 PM in response to steve910by krzysztof_kkr,I found the information, that Outlook 2016 for Mac does not currently support the Web standard CalDAV or CardDAV. This means that it is not possible to synchronize calendar or contacts Outlook iCloud 2016 for Mac.
Since it does not support Outlook 2015 for Mac, you can resize images is not also for the PC. In Outlook you can not even add the account "username@icloud.com".
All IMAP and SMTP server settings provided by Apple are not to be used. SMTP only gives you the ability to send a message, if you use port 25 unmarked channel SSL or TSL. It's best to choose a slot machine.
In addition, there is the only way to read contacts in native windows 10 contacts program. And it's only enough for now.
As Apple with Microsoft do fine, that we are still a problem.
Maybe anyone wants to buy the iPhone 5s?

Nov 20, 2015 2:42 PM in response to steve910by joe_7399,Hi steve910,
Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!
As it seems like you are already aware, Outlook 2016 is not compatible with iCloud for Windows. Support for Outlook 2016 will be available in a soon to be released update. In the meantime, if you are using Outlook 2016, you can access iCloud Mail, Contacts, and Calendars on iCloud.com.
iCloud for Windows currently supports Outlook 2007 through Outlook 2013. Support for Outlook 2016 will be available in an updated release soon. If you use Outlook 2016, you can access iCloud Mail, Contacts, and Calendars on iCloud.com.
