Q: Finder window not displaying properly

Hi,

I am having problems with my finder window. It is not letting me open a new tab within finder, as well as this, the tab bar is inaccessible and I am unable to access my favourites in the side bar.

I've tried relaunching Finder through force quit, as well as changing the preferences and restarting. Any help is appreciated. I've added two screenshots so you can see what is happening.
