Make sure Outlook is the latest version.

Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 version 14.5.5: September 8, 2015

If you are fully updated. Open Database Utility by holding the Option key when launching Outlook. Create a new Identity. Does it open?

If yes,  you can move your data over to the new Identity.

T happen in Outlook 2011 even after updated to the latest version. Outlook 2016 work fine but you may be reluctant to upgrade

On the process to move the data to the new profile, the archived emails will be deleted?

In any case, I am trying but I get the volleyball before I can start the export... so it does not work for me

I basically can't upgrade to Office 2016 because it is a company computer...

This is a big mess, all the employees with a Mac have their outlook not working!

What happened when you tested in a new Identity?

What type of account(s)? (POP, IMAP, Exchange)

Open Console and enter Outlook in the top right filter. Do you see any errors with 255? Paste the last few lines you see in the report.

Did Outlook open in a new Identity? If no, then test in a new User.

Testing in a new User will quickly tell you if the problem is system wide or if it's your User's folder that contains the problem.

    CREATE A NEW USER

Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in Users & Groups.

Switch to the New User by logging out/in or use Fast User Switching.

Only default Apple apps will  be in the Dock in the new User. Go to Applications to open Outlook.

Does Outlook open in a new Identity.

Using Exchange. There are a bunch of errors on the console related to Outlook. Here just a few of them, the last ones:

I created a new user and set it as Default with the Microsoft Database Utility and outlook opened fine, no crash after 3-4 minutes.

Then I came back to the right user and crash.

Now I am rebuilding the database just in case it helps...

If you have Exchange just create a new Identity in your User and let your Exchange download from the server. If you stored any messages under "On My Computer" we can get those out with a third party tool. EmailChemy $29.95

You are probably right but... I'm desperate and I see no other options so far but waiting the gentlemen of Microsoft or Apple to fix it via update

Looks like Microsoft is aware of the issue: https://support.microsoft.com/kb/3098396

I just hope they fix it soon, this is a disaster!
