Q: Xcode no split screen El Capitan?

Hello I was very exited about the new split view feature and after intalling El Capitan I tried it instantly. When I tried to split view Xcode I saw that it doesn't allow me to split Xcode, I was very very sad that I can't split Xcode with Safari for example. Someone knows if split view will be available for Xcode soon? Or only I have this problem?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch,Early 2015), OS X El Capitan (10.11), null

I am having this issue too. I also have the same macbook as you. But this issue is really inconvenient and I hope it can be fixed soon or at least a work around method.

Spilt View is limited by the minimum width of an application's window when in standard view. If two app takes up more than the full width of the your display when you resize each application window to their minimum width, then they will not be able to be shared in Split View.

As you are using a smaller display, I am suspecting that the minimum width of Xcode  when viewed in standard view on your display is greater than half the width of the display. Based on your post, it's probably about 2/3 of your display.

If you change the resolution of the display in System Preferences > Displays to Scaled - More Space, then Xcode will probably now fit is Split View. It's a poor work around as now everything else on your computer display is smaller too.

    Hi All

i have the same macbook pro 13" Retina as well, & i had the same issue,  until i read this discussion, which is all you have to do is adjust the resolution of the screen, i've modified it to more space, go to system preferences then display preferences then select scalar then choose More Space which will allow you to split your Xcode along with Safari or whatever you want (but the thing is try to magnify the browser as much as you can see).
