iPhone 4S, 16 gig, IOS 7.1.2.
Audio 1.88 GB orange, Photos 1.45 GB purple, Apps 2.15 green, Docs 261.1 MB blue, Other 6.16 GB yellow.
I wanted to fix the 'Other' category.
I tried to get iTunes to recalibrate the other, by connecting the iPhone to a Macbook via USB. Launching iTunes and then holding the Home and the Wake/Sleep button on the iPhone until it reboots.
- The screen showed the blue iTunes logo and USB leash.
- iTune Macbook showed "There is a problem with the iPhone “iPhone” that requires it to be updated or restored."
So backed up to iTunes on my Macbook. and followed procedure to Restore from Backup to fix issue.
Macbook iTunes said " iTunes could not restore the iPhone "XXX Cell Phone" because not enough free space is available on the iPhone"
I have not tried Restore from Backup from iTunes yet.
I would prefer to stay with 7.1.2 as IOS 8 seemed to have many issues. I don't know anything about IOS 9 or even if it will run on my 4S.
Anyone familiar with this problem ?
