Having trouble installing OS X El Capitan

I have tried downloading El Capitan about 3 times now and I keep getting this message when downloading This copy of the Install OS X El Capitan application can't be verified. It may have been corrupted or tampered with during downloading. Those anyone else have this issue/solution,

MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2012), OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

Having exactly the same problem on my 2015 MacBook. Yes, I installed from the App Store. No, the problem is not slow download time. Logging in to the App Store to attempt a reinstall fails because App Store has "Download" greyed out. Didn't copy the error message but I think it said something about deleting the El Capitan partition (how?) and reinstalling El Capitan.

Can't find Store/Check for Unfinished Downloads at App Store. Don't see it under Quicklinks.
The page for downloading El Capitan says "Downloaded" and "No Updates Available," so it won't let me download again. "Purchased" tab also lists El Capitan as "Downloaded." Doesn't this imply it finished the download? and was somehow corrupted? If I could find a pkg and safely delete it, I would, but I don't know where and how to find it. Removal must be safe.
