Yes, same. I'm currently rebuilding previews. I'll let you know if it does any good.
deleted aperture preferences, rebooted, all OK.
Oh thank you! That worked. --heavy sigh of relief--
I tried the trash pref/reboot approach and initially everything seemed fine. However as soon as I turned on on-screen proofing the problem re-occurred. I have submitted feedback to Apple.
well, when i also turned onscreen proofing back on, the problem returned.
Hello, How do you delete Aperture Prefeences?
englishmaninNY, are you having the same problem. if so, notify Apple. the more weight we get, the more likely a quick resolution.
hold down the option key and click on Go in the finder menu bar. select Library. open Preferences folder. look in the apple.com section for the Aperture preferences. drag to trash and restart.
Yes it was the same problem and I have sent feedback to Apple on it. I thought the new OSX was going to make Aperture no longer useable for editing, which would have been a pill for me, as I've yet to bite the bullet and use Lightroom and Photoshop on Creative Cloud.
I also spoke to Apple last night and shared my screen so they could see the problem. They couldn't resolve it and have arranged for a Pro App specialist to call me on Friday night. I couldn't find a time to do it today when I was at home and they were available.
In the meantime, I will follow your recommendation of deleting the Aperture preferences. When I do, should I empty the trash before rebooting or afterwards, or does it not matter?
THanks for your help.
Anthony
you don't need to empty the trash.
i did not expect Aperture to be broken with this release of OS X. in the future perhaps.
the Apple Aperture specialist i was dealing with last night just informed me that he was able to reproduce the problem.
i will hold on the Aperture as long as i can. fits me perfectly and i am too far along to change. i can always use it with online proofing off, but i need those profiles for printing on the fine art epson papers i use.
Based on my last exchange, I do not expect this to be resolved quickly, if at all.
Unfortunately, I fear you are right. The only way I could see it getting fixed properly is if a.) enough people complain and b.) it is an easy fix that did not take a lot of somebody's hours (preferably only minutes from Apple's perspective) and could be rolled into the next update of the OSX along with any other pesky gremlins that need to be slayed. But even if it's an easy fix, it would probably need a huge number of complaints for it to happen. I don't print much and when I do, I pay for it to be done.
Just putting my name on the list of people who are experiencing this issue. I upgraded to 10.11 on my laptop (but not my desktop) and compared the same photo on both machines (with proofing on/off). The problem you describe is not very subtle!
I don’t usually use onscreen proofing, so it won’t be a big problem for me if it’s not fixed. However, it probably represents the long downward-spiral where Aperture will eventually be unusable, even for non-pro’s like me. I doubt if Apple will do anything about it, but another poster (on another thread) suggested that there may be an update through the generic "Pro App" update process that are released occasionally. That way, they can "update" Aperture to some degree, without "officially" supporting Aperture. Hope he's right!
I’ll hold off upgrading my main computer for a while just to make sure there are no other major problems. Otherwise, I’d like to finish a long-term project on Aperture before I eventually move to Lightroom. The project will likely take another couple years, so I may have to avoid OS X updates for a while if Aperture has big problems with the upgrades. If things get real bad, I may get a refurbished Mac with Yosemite installed for Aperture use only until I complete my project.

DAvid, please give feedback to Apple if you have not.
I am experiencing more or less the same problem, but mine is with brightness/exposure. I believe what caused this is the same for yours and mine, so instead of starting a new thread I thought I might as well post here.
Below capture shows my problem. On the left is the same image opened with Preview. Please note photos look absolutely normal when seen in navigation bar below. Luckily exporting images works fine.
Probably this has something to do with Metal graphic system? Then I fear there would be no quick solution to this... or no solution at all! (unless Apple comes back with Aperture) and yess I have sent a feedback to Apple as soon as I found this. Hope they can get us a fix to this!

yes, that's the symptom. turn off onscreen proofing and see what happens.
