How do I securely empty the trash?
I installed the public release of El Capitan, and there does not seem to be any way to do it, as that option does not appear anywhere in El Capitan.

I installed El Capitan from the Mac App Store. I also do not have the Secure Empty Trash feature. Directions in Apple Support do not work.

"Secure Empty Trash" is no longer available for sound reasons.
Sensitive files ought to be considered sensitive from creation through deletion and everything in between. A document or file does not suddenly become sensitive the moment you decide to delete it.
If you are working with sensitive files whose content must be secure from unauthorized access, use FileVault.
