El Capitan - Mail continues to crash.

After loading El Capitan, mail continues to crash. It will reload for about a minute and crash again.

I have restarted the computer a few times, but to no avail.

Any ideas?

Hello OldDem,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

If Mail is quitting unexpectedly on you after about a minute after launching, then I first suggest to open the Mail app while holding the Shift key on your keyboard. This will prevent any messages from being opened during the initial launch.

If the issue persists, then the next step I suggest is to start isolating where this is happening. You can do this by creating a test user on your computer, and trying to use Mail there:

If you continue to experience this issue, then please let us know.

Take care.

Thank you alex_h1

I the hold down shift key didn't have an affect.

I did test on an other account on the MacBookPro. It was not having any problems.

I went back to preferences on my mail account and eliminated all but two accounts, (I have about eight accounts). One of my apple login accounts was using one of my email address and I created a new account to test another email address. both worked. So I didn't delete those.

Now my email client is working fine. I will now start adding back accounts until it fails.

I had over 60,000 email load so Im wondering if I overloaded it.

I will report back when I finish my rebuild.

Thanks very much for your assistance.
